Prompt: In 2–3 well-developed sentences, reflect on how you spent your Holiday Break. Then, identify four personal you would like to achieve this year and briefly explain why each goal is important to you
Response: During my holiday break, I spent the majority of the time being sick. I was unfortunately stuck spending the majority of the days trying to recover and get better from being sick. On the bright side, I spent the rest of my break traveling to Maryland, and I rode a plane for the first time. First, this year I want to achieve my personal goal of gaining better spending habits by spending less money and saving more. This goal is important to me because I have a bad habit of spending money too quickly, and I want to save money for more expensive things that I want. To gain this skill, I will set a budget of only spending a maximum of $20 per week. I will also add $15 to my savings every week after getting paid on Sundays in order to save my money for more expensive items and events. My second goal for this year is to study each week and during the weekend more for this semester. This is important to me because it'll help me memorize what I've learned and prepare me for future tests and subjects. Before tests, I will create a set of flashcards on what I struggle with to improve what I know, and I'll quiz myself too with practice tests as well. I will also make an effort to study at least once a week. Another goal for this year is to gain more trust from my pet gecko. This is important because I have a tokay gecko, which is an aggressive species, and I want to handle her more and make her more comfortable in her home. In order to do this, I will start feeding her with my hand to normalize close contact and associate my hand with something rewarding twice a week. Then, I will try to hold her in her terrarium in order to get her adjusted to being held. One other goal I have this year is to gain more connections with people. This is important to me because I want to expand my social circle and work on my social skills. To achieve this, I will go to more social events at least twice a month, such as music shows, because it is easy to find friendly people with common interests there. I'll also be working on carrying conversations and trying to put myself out there more to improve my confidence.
Summary: In class we wrote down 5 SMART goals for this year.
Reflection: I reflected on ways I can improve myself this year.
