 Prompt: Write about the best gift you have received

Response: The best gift that I have received was my first pet when I was 12. My first pet was a leopard gecko named Geico that was given to me as a gift from my mom as a chance to prove that I had responsibility. Ever since I had my first gecko, it began my passion for reptiles and amphibians. I loved him a lot and he was my favorite pet that I've had. Because of him, I started my lifelong goal to become a herpetologist. Although he passed away around 2 years ago, he will always be a core memory and important to me. 


Summary: In class we explored different arguments and the parts of writing one.


Reflection: I reflected on how I can use broader vocabulary in my arguments.

Response: During Thanksgiving, I wanted to make mac n cheese for dinner. We held a small Thanksgiving dinner with my oldest sister. I was unfortunately stuck spending the majority of the days trying to recover and get better from being sick. On the bright side, I spent the rest of my break traveling to Maryland, and I rode a plane for the first time. First, this year I want to achieve my personal goal of gaining better spending habits by spending less money and saving more. This goal is important to me because I have a bad habit of spending money too quickly, and I want to save money for more expensive things that I want.
